SYRACUSE — Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation was granted $1,750 for nature cameras from Arrowhead Country RC&D last Thursday night, March 21.
The nature cameras will be used on three WACF properties: The Levinson LaBrosse Lakes & Wetlands Education Center trails 1 and 2, the WACF Between the Lakes property and The Zimmerman property on the east side of Lake Wawasee.
Pam Schumm, WACF’s educational officer, says, “I’m so excited to have these nature cameras so we can show what animals live in our habitat! What a wonderful opportunity for kids to watch wildlife in their natural habitat. This will be a great addition to our educational program.”
“This is the first grant that WACF has received from Arrowhead Country RC&D,” says Emily Maggart, development officer of WACF. “I’m happy to partner with Arrowhead Country RC&D and to be chosen for this project. WACF is constantly working on expanding our educational programs to be year-round.”
The cameras will show pictures of the wildlife and expand our educational social media presence.
