COLUMBIA CITY — An Albion woman was killed in a wreck on Tuesday, March 19, east of Columbia City.

According to a Whitley County Sheriff’s Office press release, Cynthia M. Wenhart, 41, died after the accident that occurred at 12:23 p.m.

Per the release, Wenhart was traveling southbound on North Ruckman Road north of East Old Trail Road in a 2013 Kia SUV. It appeared to law enforcement that she drove her vehicle off the west side of the road before overcorrecting. Her vehicle went off the roadway to the east and into the Eel River, where it went onto its top.

Also assisting at the scene was the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
