Slisz Arrested On Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

LEESBURG — A North Webster man was arrested after a traffic stop resulted in the discovery of drugs.
Joseph Robert Slisz, 31, 107 EMS W23 Lane, North Webster, is charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession or use of a legend drug, both level 6 felonies; driving while suspended, a class A misdemeanor; and possession of methamphetamine with a sentence enhancement, a level 5 felony.
On March 3, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy was patrolling near Leesburg when he saw a vehicle without a license plate light driving left of center. The vehicle’s speed also fluctuated between 30 and 50 mph.
According to court documents, the deputy pulled the vehicle over and identified the driver as Slisz. Upon further investigation, the deputy learned Slisz’s driving status was suspended prior and also saw Slisz throw a small plastic bag onto the ground. The bag contained meth.
While searching Slisz’s vehicle, the deputy found two pills identified as a legend drug.
Slisz has two suspensions on his driving record, including an indefinite suspension for failure to provide proof of insurance. He also has prior convictions for driving while suspended and dealing meth in Marshall County.
Slisz has already been arrested and released on bond. He has an initial hearing at 8:15 a.m. April 4, in Kosciusko Circuit Court.
