INDIANAPOLIS — Purdue’s center, Zach Edey, has been named Big Ten Men’s Basketball Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
Edey is only the fourth man to be honored in back-to-back seasons. He joins the ranks with Iowa’s Luka Garza (2020, 2021), Michigan State’s Mateen Cleaves (1998, 1999) and Ohio State’s Jim Jackson.
Edey led the conference in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage, with 24.2 points and 11.7 rebounds per game, making 49% of field goal attempts.
In the 2022-2023 season, Edey had 22.3 points and 12.9 rebounds per game, making 60.7% of field goals.
