PIERCETON — A Pierceton man has died after a three-vehicle accident on US 30 Wednesday morning.
At 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, Kosciusko County emergency personnel were dispatched to US 30, west of the CR 450E intersection, for a personal injury crash involving a 2004 Chevrolet S-10 pickup, a 2005 Buick Rendezvous, and a 2008 GMC Acadia. The vehicles were driven by Jay King, 58, Pierceton; Sarah Craft, 84, Pierceton; and Lovesson Frejuste, 31, Orlando, Fla., respectively.
When Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived, it was determined that there was a vehicle partially stopped in the left lane and median because of a flat tire. The GMC and Buick were both slowing down in traffic due to the disabled vehicle. The S-10 was traveling west on US 30 in the left lane, approaching the slowing traffic, and hit the Buick. This collision resulted in the Buick rear-ending the Acadia.
King was flown to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, where he succumbed to injures from the crash, according to the Allen County Coroner. The crash investigation was turned over to the Kosciusko County Fatal Team.
KCSO was assisted at the scene by Pierceton Fire Department, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, Lutheran EMS, Lutheran Air Ambulance, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

The Buick Rendezvous involved in the accident sustained heavy front-end damage.
