MILFORD — A brief meeting of the Milford Redevelopment Commission was held Monday, March 11, addressing a property resolution amendment.
The property resolution regards the Eastfield subdivision currently under construction in one of Milford’s TIF districts. Because Milford has an agreement with Miller Brothers Construction stating the town will assume responsibility for maintaining utilities in the subdivision, it will need to purchase the utility and drainage easement area and right-of-way from Miller Brothers.
Due to state law, easement areas and right-of-way cannot be purchased if not identified as “property to be acquired.” The commission’s original plan for the Eastfield subdivision did not originally identify these amenities as such. The amendment would identify them as property to be acquired so the purchase can go through.
The commission approved the amendment, pending further approval from the town council.
