Wellington Noel “Welly” VanHouten, 84, rural Columbia City, died at 7:08 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2024, at home.

He was born Jan. 8, 1940. In August 1968, he married Virginia Knecht; they later divorced, and she survives.

He also is survived by his daughter, Angela K. (Michael) Poor, Columbia City; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, Robert (Nancy) VanHouten, South Whitley, and Virgil VanHouten, Pierceton.
