Silver Lake Conservation Group Receives Arrow Head Grant

SILVER LAKE — Silver Lake (Kosciusko Co.) Conservation Foundation Inc. was selected by Arrow Head Country Resource Conservation and Development Area Inc. as a grant award recipient.
The grant award will be used toward costs associated with a robust scientific study, including water quality monitoring, of Silver Lake and North Little Lake in southern Kosciusko County.
Arrow Head RC&D provides grant funding annually and received 16 applications for this year’s grant cycle representing eight out of 10 counties under its coverage area. This year’s funding focused on projects working with natural resources, conservation awareness and education.
Silver Lake (Kosciusko Co.) Conservation Foundation Inc. is a not-for-profit organization formed in June 2019 and received federal tax-exempt status under IRC Section 501 (c) (3) in November 2019. Silver Lake Conservation Foundation’s primary mission and purpose is to protect and enhance Silver Lake and North Little Lake. The Arrow Head Country Resource Conservation and Development Area is a not-for-profit service organization representing 10 counties in northern Indiana, including Cass, Fulton, Jasper, Kosciusko, Marshall, Miami, Newton, Pulaski, Starke and White. The organization encourages conservation of natural resources and community development. Each county has three representatives coming from the following entities: county commissioners, county extension board and the Soil and Water Conservation District. The primary duty of the council is to help with natural resource conservation and development as well as education in the 10-county area.
