Eugene Edward Schmalzried, 81, North Manchester, died at 5:28 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Parkview Wabash Hospital.

He was born July 5, 1942. On Aug. 25, 1984, he married Brenda J. Woods, who preceded him in death in 2009.

He is survived by his sister, Betty Heagy, North Manchester; four nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
