North Webster Community Public Library — Robert Hudson’s Art On Display

NORTH WEBSTER — The North Webster Community Public Library is honored to be hosting an art display by local artist, Robert Hudson.
Hudson is a self-taught artist who specializes in pencil drawings and oil paintings. He first gained renown for his “western” art depicting mountain men, Native Americans, horses and cowboys. He has won numerous art awards and has been invited to showcase his art all over the United States as well as in various foreign countries, namely Switzerland, Taipei Taiwan, Australia and Germany.
Besides western art, Hudson has also been commissioned to do portraits of many high-profile clients, created over 30 giant murals and has even published two works of fiction.
Hudson’s art will be displayed at NWCPL until March 5. He will also be hosting a public book talk and Q&A session at 5:30 p.m. March 5, at the library.
Weekly Library Events
The following activities are set to take place at North Webster Community Public Library. Attendees do not need to have a library card to participate in any of these events.
Adult Events
Writer’s Corner will be meeting at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 26. This month’s writing prompt is “Pretend Romeo and Juliet survived and are getting ready to celebrate their 20th anniversary. What are their lives like?” Bring your writings and come prepared to share with the group.
Exercise classes will be happening at the library this week. Get Fit While You Sit chair exercise will be meeting at 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 29. Let’s Move Dance class will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 29. These classes are free and open to the public, no library card required.
NWCPL will be hosting Beginner Tech: Cyber Security at 10:15 a.m. Friday, March 1. This workshop is for those who are interested in safety online and want to protect themselves from frauds and scams. Come learn how to build confidence when visiting websites, creating passwords and responding to emails. Please register in advance.
Teen Events
Teen Advisory Board will be meeting at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28.
Children’s Events
Certified therapy dog, Irish, will be waiting for you during the PAWS-to-Read program from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26. This event provides a comfortable and judgment-free zone for kids to read and interact with Irish. Sign up for 15 minute appointment by calling the library at (574) 834-7122.
Story times will be happening this week at NWCPL. Baby and Toddler Time will be meeting at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27. Preschool story time will be meeting at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28. Registration is appreciated, but visitors are always welcome.
