News Release
SYRACUSE — Wawasee Community School Corp. has announced Eric Speicher, Syracuse Elementary principal, will be transitioning to the Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. as business manager.

It is bittersweet to say goodbye to one of the leaders at Wawasee. Over the past few years, Speicher has worked toward his interest in district leadership by earning his education specialist degree and starting his IASBO chief business officer certification.
Speicher’s last day will be Friday, March 1. Dr. Tom Edington, former superintendent of Wawasee Schools, will serve as interim principal until the end of this school year. Since his retirement, Edington has taken several elementary interim principal positions and has been well received.
Wawasee will begin the search for a new principal immediately and intend to have a new principal named later this spring. We look forward to finishing the year strong and finding new leadership.
In a separate announcement, Valley said it was thrilled to announce the appointment of Speicher as its new business manager.
Speicher has a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University, a master’s degree from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne and an education specialist degree from Indiana State University.
A native of Milford, Speicher is married to Jessica, a reading interventionist at Lincoln Elementary. They have five children: Dorian, Isabel, Abby, Luke and Reid.
Expressing his enthusiasm for joining Tippecanoe Valley Schools, Speicher highlighted his love for small-town communities and admiration for how the Valley community consistently supports its schools and students.
As the newly appointed business manager, Speicher will play a role in managing and directing the business office. His responsibilities will include preparing the school budget, writing and managing grants and overseeing the overall management of the business office. Speicher is eager to contribute his expertise to the Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. team and is excited about collaborating with the community to fulfill the district’s mission of providing a quality education for all students.
Speicher succeeds Jessica McFarland, who resigned to take a job with Wa-Nee Community Schools.
