FORT WAYNE — Financial aid professionals will be at both Ivy Tech Community College Fort Wayne and Warsaw’s campuses to offer free assistance to those filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid as part of College Goal Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25.

Volunteers will walk through the form line-by-line and answer questions as needed. Spanish interpreters will be present at Fort Wayne’s location. Students who attend the event and complete the FAFSA will be eligible to win one of five $1,000 prizes from Indiana College Goal Sunday, which is funded by the Lilly Endowment and InvestEd.
Students should bring:
- Personal documents: Including Social Security number, driver’s license number, alien registration number or permanent residence card.
- Tax documents and proof of income: Including a 2022 federal income tax return, 2022 W-2 forms or other records of money earned or received.
- Documentation of financial assets: Including bank statements, child support received, current value of investment accounts (non-retirement) and real estate or current net worth of any ownership of a business or farm.

“We want students to take advantage of every opportunity that puts high-quality, affordable education and skills training within their reach,” said Kim Barnett Johnson, chancellor of Ivy Tech Fort Wayne and Warsaw. “Ivy Tech is proud to participate in College Goal Sunday to help remove any barriers when it comes to accessing financial aid.”
The FAFSA is the required form for federal financial aid and state grant funding, including the 21st Century Scholarship and Frank O’Bannon Grant. It must be filled out every year.
College Goal Sunday is a statewide effort of the Indiana Student Financial Aid Association to increase the number of high school seniors, adult learners and returning students who complete the FAFSA by Indiana’s priority deadline, which is Monday, April 15.
