WARSAW — Don Miller was sworn in as a Claypool Town Council member on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the Kosciusko County Justice Building.
Miller was the only person to file a declaration of candidacy with Kosciusko County Republican Central Committee Chairman Mike Ragan. A vacancy occurred on Claypool’s council after Nate Morton, who was newly elected to serve on the council in November 2023, submitted his resignation on Jan. 30.
Miller has lived in Claypool for 42 years and previously served on the council for 18 years until December 2015.
Ragan thanked Miller for stepping in and getting involved again.
“I know we have some issues with our utilities…and need to get some stability back in the system for sure,” said Miller after being sworn in. “You can’t please everybody all the time, and that’s always a challenge, but hopefully most or all will feel comfortable with what things we do decide in the near future as far as the infrastructure, expenses, things like that go.”
Claypool Council’s next meeting is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20.
