NAPPANEE — James Pecsi of Nappanee is running for a seat on the Jefferson Township Trustee Board.
There will be a caucus at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, to fill the vacancy left by Robert (Bob) Riley, who resigned. It will be held at Kosciusko County Republican headquarters, 123 W. Center St., Warsaw.
Pecsi has lived in Nappanee since 2000. He spent four years in the Navy, serving from 1964 to 1968, and has an electrical engineering degree from Tri-State University, where he was on the debate team.
He has worked at various jobs during his working career. He retired eight years ago.
“I have been a quality manager for different companies,” Pecsi said.
He is very active in the American Legion in Nappanee serving as an adjutant.
Pecsi has been a precinct committeeman for Jefferson Township 2. He is running for the board because he feels he is qualified due to his past leadership roles when he was working.
“People need to be listened to and (we need to) find out what their needs and wants are,” he said. “When I was working, I built a rapport with people.”
He was asked by Mike Ragan, Kosciusko County Republican Central Committee Chairman to run for a seat on the board.
He has been married to his wife, Diana, for 55 years. They have a daughter, Roxanne, and two grandsons.
