Fulton County Primary To Have Contested Council Race

ROCHESTER — Fulton County has another contested race for this year’s May primary.
Four candidates have filed as Republicans for three Fulton County Council at-large seats. Those are: Barry Baldwin, Patricia Geier, Matthew Finke and Steve Fishburn; only Fishburn is a current incumbent.
A list of candidates who have filed for other positions as of late morning Monday, Feb. 5, is below. All of the candidates who have filed thus far are Republicans.
- Lorie Hurst, auditor.
- Gail Karas, state delegate.
- Bryan Lewis, precinct committeeman.
- Tami Powell, precinct committeeman.
- Carrie Ranstead, state delegate.
- Richard Ranstead, state delegate and county commissioner district 3.
- LeeAnn Eizinger, state delegate.
- Jennifer Utter, treasurer.
- Kathy Adamson, auditor and precinct committeeman.
- Michael Canada, state delegate and precinct committeeman.
- David Sommers, state delegate and county commissioner district 1.
- Chad Hartzler, precinct committeeman.
- Stephenia Barkman, precinct committeeman.
- Brian Fitzwater, state delegate and precinct committeeman.
- Stephen Sanders, precinct committeeman.
- Thomas Butler Jr., precinct committeeman.
- Ron Woodruff, precinct committeeman.
- Barry Baldwin, precinct committeeman.
- Christopher Sailors, state delegate and precinct committeeman.
- Monica Clennon, precinct committeeman.
- Amy Roe, state delegate.
- Jon Good, coroner.
- Paul Williams Jr., precinct committeeman.
The deadline for filing for local positions for the 2024 primary is noon Friday, Feb. 9, and may be done at the Fulton County Courthouse.
These positions are up for election:
- Fulton Superior Court judge.
- Fulton County auditor.
- Fulton County coroner.
- Fulton County treasurer.
- Fulton County Commissioner District 1.
- Fulton County Commissioner District 3.
- Fulton County Council At-Large, three seats.
Other seats up for election consist of those of Republican precinct committeemen and Republican and Democratic state convention delegates.
