Warsaw Teenager Arrested For Child Solicitation, Sexual Battery

WARSAW — A Warsaw teenager was recently arrested for allegedly acting inappropriately with an individual under the age of 18.
Kmani Dashaun Wheeler, 19, 1607 Maye St., Warsaw, is charged with child solicitation, a level 5 felony; and sexual battery, a level 6 felony.
On June 22, 2023, a child reported being inappropriately touched on top of their clothing by Wheeler. The child was interviewed at Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center on June 27, 2023.
According to court documents, the child said Wheeler inappropriately touched them two weeks prior to the interview and had told Wheeler how old they were. The child said they were hanging out at a residence with Wheeler and five other people under the age of 18.
While the child was on their phone, Wheeler allegedly spooned the child, inappropriately interacted with them, and said he wanted to have sex with them. He also kissed the child. The child left the residence with a second child.
A Warsaw Police officer interviewed the second child on July 2, 2023. The second child said they witnessed Wheeler act inappropriately with the victim.
Wheeler was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Jan. 31, 2024, with a $10,250 surety and cash bond.
