Prince Running For Kosciusko Surveyor
News Release
WARSAW — Ryan Prince has announced his candidacy for Kosciusko County surveyor.
He’s running as a Republican in the May 2024 primary, becoming the second candidate to do so after James Moyer.
According to a press release, Prince is the only state licensed professional surveyor running for office, with 10 years of experience working in Kosciusko County.
He graduated from Delta High School in Delaware County in 2008, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout from Troop 27. He then earned a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering and technology from Purdue University.
Since 2017, Prince has lived in Kosciusko County with his wife Kim and their two young children. He has been a volunteer for Kosciusko County Velo events, such as Fat & Skinny Tire Fest in May. Prince also received the volunteer of the year award in 2022 from KCV for his volunteer and organizational efforts.
As a surveyor at John Kimpel & Associates, Prince has worked on or supervised various projects in the county, such as boundary surveys, topographic surveys, subdivision plats, ALTA surveys and construction staking. He has also been involved in the restoration and perpetuation of section corners, which are the basis of all land surveys in Indiana.
Prince said he is passionate about the history and importance of section corners, both for private surveying work and for the benefit of the public. He said he wants to continue the legacy of professionalism and excellence that the current county surveyor, Mike Kissinger, has established.
“I am running for county surveyor because I care about the quality and accuracy of surveying services in Kosciusko County,” said Prince. “I have the skills, experience and vision to lead the county surveyor’s office and to serve the public with integrity and efficiency.”
