WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for allegedly stealing a vehicle.
Christopher Lee Dean, 32, 641 Walter Way, Warsaw, is charged with theft, a level 6 felony; and operating a vehicle without obtaining a license, a class C misdemeanor.
On Jan. 12, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a report about a stolen Chevrolet Silverado. The vehicle’s owner said he was preparing to leave his residence when he noticed his Silverado was gone.
According to court documents, the owner said he left the vehicle unlocked with its keys inside it. About $600 worth of tools were also inside the Silverado when it was stolen.
Later that day, a patrolling Warsaw officer saw the stolen vehicle and pulled it over. The driver, later identified as Dean, said he did not want to talk about the vehicle and never received a driver’s license.
The vehicle’s owner arrived at the scene and said most of the tools were missing.
Dean has already been arrested and released on his own recognizance. He has an initial hearing at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, in Kosciusko Superior Court Three.
