SYRACUSE — The Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce has announced its January Member of the Month: the Town of Syracuse’s street department.
The street department works tirelessly to keep the community members of Syracuse and surrounding areas safe on its roads.
The street department are the first out on snowy and slick roads, salting and plowing. The department also removes leaves and brush, sweeps and other types of street maintenance. Your safety is the department’s priority.
The street department also is in charge of hanging banners and flags on light poles, often commemorating a veteran or celebrating a holiday. The department also responds to main water breaks, helping reduce damage and skillfully fixing the break.
Marty Patrick, town of Syracuse mechanic, expertly maintains town vehicles to keep them running as efficiently as possible.
The street department plays a pivotal role in keeping the community and the roads safe.
