WARSAW — Matthew J. Buehler has filed to run for the position of Kosciusko County Circuit Court judge in the May 2024 primary election.

He’s running as a Republican.

Buehler, a graduate of Warsaw Community High School, has been practicing law in his hometown for more than 10 years.

He is currently a deputy prosecutor in the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office. His assignment to the Kosciusko Circuit Court as a deputy prosecutor has provided unique and extensive experience that, if elected, he will bring to the bench.

“During my time in the Circuit Court, I have worked closely with the Drug Treatment Court to provide criminal sentencing alternatives to addicted offenders. It is my wish to continue the tradition of outstanding judicial officers who have served Kosciusko County and to continue the work of the Drug Treatment Court,” says Buehler.

Before joining the prosecutor’s office in 2019, Buehler was in private practice in Warsaw. During that time, he served as a public defender in all four criminal courts in Kosciusko County.

In addition to criminal law, his practice also included civil litigation and family law. He also served as judge pro tempore on many occasions.

Buehler graduated from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2013. He and his wife Jennifer live in Warsaw with their three sons ages 15, 11 and 5.

“The city of Warsaw and all of Kosciusko County is a terrific place to live and raise a family. I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to this wonderful community that has given me so much by seeking this office,” says Buehler.

Attorney Jack Birch has also filed to run for Kosciusko County Circuit Court judge.
