Area Teams Place At Manchester University Science Olympiad Invitational

NORTH MANCHESTER — Students from 13 high schools and middle schools across Indiana joined a bustling Manchester University campus for the 2024 MU Science Olympiad Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 20, in North Manchester.
Students participated in more than 30 events and competitions, with activities that included code breaking, identifying fossils and constructing roller coasters and towers.
Raymond Park Thunder of Raymond Park Middle School, Indianapolis, won the middle school division. Raymond Park Lightning took second place overall, with the Manchester Black team of Manchester Junior-Senior High School, North Manchester, finishing third overall.
In the high school division, Mount Vernon Gold of Mount Vernon High School, Mount Vernon, finished first, with North Central Black of North Central High School, Indianapolis, finishing second and Manchester Black of Manchester Junior-Senior High School, North Manchester, finishing third.
Participants will be moving on to regional, state and national competitions.
