WARSAW — A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Kosciusko County and surrounding areas.
According to the National Weather Service of Northern Indiana, the advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13.
Snow and blowing snow is expected, with total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches. Wind gusts as high as 50 mph are possible late Friday night into Saturday morning.
Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
The worst travel conditions from snow and blowing snow will be late Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. Rain will likely mix with snow for most of Friday, which may limit impacts and accumulations during the day.
Other counties under the advisory include Elkhart, Fulton, Marshall, Noble, Wabash, and Whitley Counties.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for part of northern Indiana and southwest Michigan.
