The election of officers kicked off the new year at the Milford Redevelopment Commission’s Monday, Jan. 8, meeting.
The commission agreed to all officers retaining their current positions: Dan Brown, president; Chuck Bird, vice president; and Tricia Gall, secretary and treasurer.
In other business, Brown stated that the economic development commission recently formed to serve as bond council for a potential development project in TIF 2 needs to have its first meeting and get organized. At this time, negotiations on the project are still underway.
Gall informed the commission that Miller Brothers Construction has reached out to her about a letter regarding the public infrastructure in the Eastfield housing development. This letter — which has not yet been sent to the commission — would state the public infrastructure in Eastfield, such as water and sewer lines, are the responsibility of the town. Once accepted by the town, the letter would be turned over to the Kosciusko County Area Planning Commission in order to have this designation of responsibilities on record.
Per Milford’s agreement with Miller Brothers, the town is responsible for the public infrastructure used in Eastfield, but maintenance of things like sidewalks and common areas are the responsibility of Eastfield’s home owner’s association.
Construction is still underway on the housing development, but no more formal progress updates have been given.
The next redevelopment commission meeting will be Monday, Feb. 12.
