Maple City Health Care Expands Award-Winning Care With Additional Community Support
News Release
GOSHEN — Maple City Health Care Center received national and state recognition this month for the high-quality of its care. It was awarded the 2023 Health Center Quality Leader Gold badge from the Federal Health Resources and Services Administration. This award, the highest quality award given by HRSA, recognizes Maple City for being in the top 10% nationally for quality of care.
Maple City Health Care Center was also recognized in 2023 by the Indiana Primary Health Care Association for its high-quality care, scoring among the top three clinics in Indiana across 20 quality of care indicators tracked by the association.
Maple City Health Care Center is expanding community access to this high-quality care with the addition of a third integrated primary care clinic, Westend Community Health Center. Westend clinic opened in June 2023 and with the generous support of the community is expanding hours at the site to 5 days a week in January.
Maple City has received funding to expand its care at Westend from The Community Foundation of Elkhart County, Interra Cares Foundation, Well Foundation, Bontrager Family Foundation, Beacon Community Impact, Goshen Health, federal and state grants, as well as from generous individual contributors in the community. This support has made it possible for Maple City to reach its $2 million fundraising goal to expand access to care in Elkhart County ahead of schedule.
This funding allows Maple City to hire and train new staff to provide high quality health services including primary care, pediatrics, women’s health and pregnancy care, mental health, addictions treatment, insurance navigation, tattoo removal, medications, laboratory testing, vaccinations and dental care to existing and new patients alike.
As it accepts new patients, Maple City Health Care Center is receiving referrals for individuals, at-risk children, and families from community partners. These partners include Cora Dale House, The Window, Jail Ministry of Elkhart County, First Light Mission, Center for Healing and Hope, Oaklawn, CAPS, RETA, and Bashor Children’s Home. Maple City hopes to expand access to the broader community in 2024.
