Georgiana G. Porter, age 88, of South Whitley, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, in her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Georgiana was born on Nov. 28, 1935, in Marion, the daughter of the late Frank and Virginia (Heal) Heath. She was a graduate of Gas City Mississinewa High School. She was united in marriage to Tom G. Porter on May 28, 1955, in Marion.

Georgiana enjoyed being a homemaker, sewing clothes for her daughter and was known to be a great cook. She ran the books for Porter Construction business for 55 years. Georgiana enjoyed working puzzles, reading, playing cards and in her younger years playing golf. She was of the Baptist faith.

Georgiana will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Tom Porter, of South Whitley; son, Tommy (Lisa) Porter, of Larwill; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Joanne Ford, of Marion. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by a son, Danny Porter; a daughter, Robin Reiff; and a grandson, Adam Porter.

Funeral services in celebration of Georgiana’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 105 S. First St., Pierceton. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
