Area Police Reports
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following incident:
- 1:39 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, 700 block of West Polywood Way, Syracuse. Tressa Lynn Brickey had electronics stolen. Value of $500.
Elkhart County
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following incident:
- 1:10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 19000 block of Carter Lane, New Paris. Brittany Lantz reported fraudulent activity.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following incidents:
- 12:39 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 200 block of East Elm Street, Kewanna. Police were notified that there was further damage inside a home that has been vacant since a fire in September.
- 8:39 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, SR 25 and CR 850S, Rochester. A motorist advised one mile south of Fulton on SR 25 a very large pile of trash was in the middle of the road. A second caller reported seeing a Waste Management truck hatch open, and then the truck driver leave. State highway officials were notified to bring a snow plow to push the debris off the roadway.
- 3:14 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 9100 block of CR 525N, Rochester. A resident reported someone was trying to break into his vehicles and he believed other vehicles on his property were entered. He went outside and there were two or three males who ran off.
- 4:27 p.m. Monday, Dec. 25, 8400 block of East Division Road, Akron. A homeowner called and reported the propane stove blew up and broke the laundry room window. The homeowner believed there might have been an open gas line. The fire department was contacted.
- 1:32 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, Sweetgum Road and US 31. Police received a call from a parent that his daughter was involved in an accident. When he arrived at the scene, the driver of the other car threw his information at the caller and left. There was very minimal damage to the vehicle.
- 3:37 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 800 block of CR 975E, Akron. A caller reported seeing 500 sheep in a field with no shelter. Authorities spoke with the owner of the property, the sheep are all fine and are healthy.
