Christmas Events This Weekend Around The County

WARSAW — Christmas events this weekend include those in Warsaw and North Webster.
Those and other area Christmas events are listed below.
Akron
- The Akron Chamber of Commerce’s annual Christmas Open House is 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at the Akron Community Center. Santa will be present for photos and to visit with kids. There will also be cookies and refreshments, games and prizes and a reindeer petting zoo. People should bring their own cameras.
Chapman Lake
- A Christmas lights show is 5:30-11:30 p.m. nightly through Saturday, Jan. 6. It’s at 4317 N. Aspen Drive, Warsaw, in the Hawthorn Estates edition near Chapman Lake. There are more than 10 songs timed to Christmas lights.
Etna Green
- Santa will visit with kids at Heritage Park from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16. He will arrive by firetruck.
North Webster
- The annual breakfast with Santa will be from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at North Webster Community Center. The Kiwanis Club will provide the breakfast, and there will be crafts for children.
Silver Lake
- Santa Claus will be at the old fire station at 104 N. Jefferson St., Silver Lake, on Wednesday, Dec. 20. There will be refreshments and kids may visit with him then. He will travel around on a firetruck starting at 6 p.m., arriving at the old fire station to visit with kids from 6:30-7:30 p.m. There will be goody bags for the kids and cookies and hot chocolate.
Warsaw
- Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department’s Light Up the Night at Central Park is 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15. It was rescheduled from Dec. 1 due to weather then. Kids may receive glow necklaces and goodie bags while supplies last.
- Main Street Warsaw’s Twinkle Light Parade starts at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, with country gospel singer Susie McEntire and her husband Mark Eaton and Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer and his family as the grand marshals. MSW’s event for Third Friday runs from 5-8 p.m., including visits with Santa, complimentary carriage rides and a Christmas market.
- “A Country Christmas With Susie McEntire” returns to Lakeview Middle School, 848 E. Smith St., on Saturday, Dec. 16. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the concert starting at 7 p.m. The concert once again has free admission, with people asked to bring new, unwrapped toys to donate to Toys for Tots. Toys will be donated this year in memory of local radio personality Chris Cage’s son Christian, who passed away earlier this year.
- A Community Christmas Dinner will be held from 2-4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 25 at Zimmer Biomet Center Lake Pavilion, 119 E Canal Street, Warsaw. The event is being coordinated through the Greater Warsaw Ministerial Association in cooperation with Our Father’s House Catering, Second Harvest and The Salvation Army. The event is a community meal where people are encouraged to come enjoy food and fellowship. Two hundred meals have been planned, so it will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Tax- deductible donations to support the event may be sent to: GWMA, P.O. Box 1797, Warsaw, 46581. The dinner is planned to provide a warm meal and a place for people to go who may be alone on the celebration of the birth of Jesus.
