Warsaw Salvation Army Plans Red Kettle Blitz This Weekend

WARSAW — The Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle Blitz will be held this Saturday, Dec. 16.
An anonymous donor is pledging up to $5,000 for every dollar collected on Friday, Dec. 15, and Saturday, Dec. 16.
WIOE Oldies 101.1FM will broadcast first at Kroger and then at Walmart Supercenter in Warsaw from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Grinch will be at the Walmart Supercenter pharmacy door (south door) from noon to 1 p.m. to encourage people to give and for picture taking.
Big Boss BBQ will be collecting donations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its site in the old Marsh parking lot.
JB’s Furniture has a food collection box in front of its business, next to Kroger, to collect items for the Choice Pantry.
Two brass groups will play at Kroger, one at 10 a.m. and the TSA Community Brass at 6 p.m.
Bell ringers from Warsaw Rotary Club will be at Walmart, and the Blood Bought Bikers will be at Kroger.
“We appreciate everyone who supports our outreach to ‘others’ at Christmas as well as throughout the year,” Envoy Ken Locke, administrator for The Salvation Army, said about the Blitz. “The Salvation Army has experienced a 30% increase in requests for services this year, so all donations are greatly appreciated.”
