Goshen Theater Announces December Events

GOSHEN — The Goshen Theater, 216 S. Main St., has released their end of November and December monthly event calendar. For more information, contact the Goshen Theater box office by calling (574) 312-3701 or by emailing [email protected]. Box office hours are 12-4 p.m. Tuesday to Friday.
Monday, Nov. 20 to Monday, Dec. 18: Visual Arts Series: Guilds of Goshen
Goshen Theater is hosting an exhibition of artwork by local artists involved in the Guilds of Goshen. This special holiday show will take place in the theater lobby. All work is for sale; work in all mediums will be included. The exhibition is open to the public during box office hours, for all events and during the December First Friday.
7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30: Jazz Cafe Cabaret
This event will feature Carrie Lee Bland-Kendall and Rafael Chávez y Moreno’s jazz trio, including Arthur Schroeder, and Buddy Pearson.
Tickets for adults are $25 and for students or seniors the cost is $20. The event will take place on the Main Stage in the Miller Auditorium. Buy tickets here.
5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1: First Fridays: Hometown Holiday Celebration
View the work of local artists belonging to the Guilds of Goshen. All work is for sale; work in all mediums are included.
Join the sing-a-long lead by the theater’s drama club for the 3rd annual “Caroling for Cans”. The raised funds will go toward benefitting “The Window, Inc.”

5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1: Holiday Michiana Pottery Tour
This year’s event will be in-person for the first time with dozens of the region’s top ceramic artists coming together for a nigh of holiday shopping and fun. The event will take place in the ballroom.
5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1: Goshen Theater Drama Club: Caroling for Cans
The Goshen Theater Drama Club will be hosting the 3rd annual “Caroling for Cans”. They will be collection canned goods; non-perishable foods; full size, deep foil pans; silverware; cloth napkins; jeans; men’s t-shirts; men, women and children’s socks; men, women and children’s underwear; #8 white lunch bags; 5.5 and 8 ounce deli and soup containers with lids; 12 ounce styrofoam soup containers with lids; and cash donations.
All proceeds will be donated to The Window, Inc., to help fulfill the community’s needs as we move into the winter months. The Window, Inc. is low on all men’s clothing.
2 p.m. and 7 p.m. December 8-10: 3:16 Community Theater Presents: Welcome to Virginia
The 3:16 Community Theater will present their Christmas production of “Welcome to Virginia” 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8 and Saturday, Dec. 9 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10.
Synopsis: “It’s Christmas Eve and the interstate in Virginia has closed due to major snowstorms. Several travelers are forced to seek shelter in a highway rest area. The rest area janitor is stuck there even though he just wants to get home to dinner. But this special night has much in store for all of them. With echoes of ‘It’s A Wonderful Life,’ ‘A Christmas Carol,’ and the original ‘Christmas Story,” this musical is uplifting, poignant and laugh out loud funny. You’ll leave the theater filled with the true spirit of Christmas!”

5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14: Visual Arts Series: Guilds of Goshen Artist Reception
The event will take place in the lobby. Come meet the artists on display and find the perfect art piece for your next holiday gift.
6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15: Goshen Theater Drama Club: Winter Showcase
Join Goshen Theater’s Drama Club students as they showcase their hard work from the semester. See the creative original works of the acting students, hear the vocal stylings of the musical theater students and dance the night away with the Latin dance students.
Doors unlock at 5:15 p.m., seating begins at 5:30 p.m. and the show begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are available here.
2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16: DES Dance: Winter Spectacular
The Winter Spectacular will feature dancers of all levels and ages from DES Dance Studio. Join for a festive time as they perform ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and pom dances to holiday classics, as well as, pop hits. Featuring amazing local artist, Carrie Lee Bland Kendall as the host and special guest performer.
Tickets are $14 for a balcony seat and $15 for a main floor seat.
7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17: Don’t Bother Cabaret
Cabaret Artist Vivian Lawrence and Theatrical Director Melany Morris were asked to describe their upcoming Cabaret at the Goshen Theater. They said; “Don’t bother buying tickets, Don’t bother having a good time, don’t bother laughing – we’ll do it for you!” When asked if they thought people should come see the show they said “Why are you still talking to me?”
So, I guess, come see The Don’t Bother: Cabaret at the Goshen Theater some day at some time! You might regret it, and if you do: Don’t bother!
Vivian Lawrence and Melany Morris share their hilarious experiences in the educational theatre world and offer some great tips on how to achieve a Don’t Bother attitude!
