WARSAW — Jaylen Warren, a Warsaw Area Career Center student, is currently interning at Male Fashions in Warsaw.
Warren’s job responsibilities include keeping the store clean, helping customers, entering inventory, checking in suits that are received, and assisting with fittings.
“It has given me good general job experience, and also given me an insight into how a business runs,” said Warren. “One thing I’ve learned is how much inventory even a small business can have, and how to sort through it and keep track of inventory. I’ve also learned a few techniques on how to make the store look more appealing to a customer. Another thing I’ve learned is what different parts of an income statement represent.”
Warren plans to go to college and eventually start his own business.
Tim Hamann, Male Fashions’ owner, said WACC’s work-based learning program is valuable for students and businesses.
