Atwood Otterbein Congregation Prepares For Christmas Season

ATWOOD — The congregation of Atwood Otterbein Church will participate in the annual “hanging of the greens” at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, in preparation for the 2024 Christmas season. Pastor David Banning is finalizing his Advent sermon series, and members are looking forward to the Christmas services and events beginning early December.
Sunday morning services begin at 9:30 a.m. and folks are invited to come early for coffee and stay late for snacks. Patsianne Harrold is conducting Bible study following Sunday morning services. Her current focus is Esther, and her study group meets in the sanctuary following the pastor’s service.
The women’s group, Sisterhood in Faith, is collecting warm hats, gloves, mittens, scarves and socks for the Angel Tree located in the church Fellowship Hall. Items for toddlers through teens are being collected and will be donated to Combined Community Services.
The church’s Men’s Breakfast broke attendance records in November. The monthly event invites all area men to join together for fellowship, food and fun on the second Saturday each month beginning at 7 a.m.
Atwood Otterbein Church is affiliated with the Global Methodist organization and is located at 306 E. Main St. in Atwood. The church is handicapped accessible and welcomes all people to its services and events.
