News Release
MILFORD — Sixteen people attended the cooking with an air fryer program Thursday, Nov. 9, at Milford Public Library. Shannon Shepherd shared information on different models of air fryers, parts of the air fryer and benefits of air frying. She discussed food safety, making sure the internal food temperature is correct, safe cooling and reheating and storing your air fryer meal. Shepherd gave some great cooking tips, like what you can cook in an air fryer, where to find easy recipes, coating options, even cooking, starting with frozen foods and better browning.
If you buy an air fryer, be sure you are not overloading circuits by plugging it in. Read the directions on using the model you purchase. Knowing how to clean and maintain your air fryer is important. Three books filled with air fryer recipes were given away as door prizes. The books are also available to check out at the library. They are: “Air-Fryer Cookbook: Quick, Healthy and Delicious” by Jenny Tschiesche; “Super-Easy and Classic Air Fryer Cookbook for Beginners 2023” by Priscilla McDermott and “Skinnytaste Air Fryer Dinners: 75 Healthy Recipes For Easy Weeknight Meals” by Gina Homolka. They hope to have four nutrition programs in 2024. Watch this site for more information.
