INDIANA — Gubernatorial candidate Eric Doden on Monday, Nov. 13, announced that his campaign has collected more than enough signatures to get him on the Republican primary election ballot in May.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the hard work and commitment from our volunteers and staff who made hitting this goal possible,” Doden said in a news release. “This campaign is strong because Hoosiers across the state share our bold vision for real plans and results that put Main Street first.”

Candidates for governor must collect 500 signatures from each of the state’s nine congressional districts, or 4,500 signatures in total.

Candidates can submit a petition of nomination, along with the signatures, beginning January 10, according to Indiana’s election calendar. They’re due by January 30.

Election officials have to verify the signatures and ultimately render a verdict on whether enough signatures have been submitted.

Doden’s campaign is in the middle of a $2 million statewide advertising campaign that includes television commercials touting he is the only candidate with a plan.

“In a race filled with career politicians and insiders, the Hoosier grassroots are rallying behind a true outsider, Eric Doden,” Campaign Manager Brian Gamache said. “From the ground up, Eric has built a statewide, grassroots network that is organized and mobilized to fight for real change for Hoosier families.”

Doden is one of six Republicans who have announced a gubernatorial run.
