NORTH WEBSTER — Join in for a magical evening at the North Webster tree lighting event Saturday, Nov. 18. The North Webster Community Public Library is participating in the festivities. Mrs. Pam will be sharing a delightful holiday story time — a heartwarming experience for all ages. This family-friendly extravaganza promises a host of engaging activities, including complimentary hot dogs and chili, encounters with Santa and his live reindeer and a performance by the talented North Webster Elementary School choir.
Feel the holiday spirit as the audience comes together for joyful caroling and be entertained by the lively tunes of Bees and the Rocker. The highlight of the evening will be the dazzling tree lighting ceremony, marking the beginning of the festive season. Additionally, gear up for an exhilarating sight as the event culminates in an ATV and Jeep Light Parade, a spectacle not to be missed.
The festivities kick off at 4 p.m., so be sure to arrive promptly to immerse yourself in the full splendor of this unforgettable celebration.
Upcoming Holiday Closings
NWCPL would like to give the community plenty of notice concerning upcoming library holiday closures. This year, the library will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23, Friday, Nov. 24, and Saturday, Nov. 25, for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Weekly Library Events
The following activities are set to take place at NWCPL. Attendees do not need to have a library card to participate in any of these events.
Adult Events
NWCPL is hosting A Matter of Balance at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13. Call the library if you are interested in the January session of this event.
Cookbook Club, 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14. This month’s meeting will feature basic turkey roll-ups with a twist. They will be experimenting with different spice combinations to determine which spices they do (or don’t) enjoy. Try something new and just maybe you will find a new use for those random spices in the back of your cupboard. Class is free, but register in advance by calling the library.
Adult Craft Class, 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14. This month’s project will be an autumn floral centerpiece. Class is free and all materials are provided, but registration is required in advance. Call the library to sign up.
Exercise classes will be happening at the library this week. Get Fit While You Sit chair exercise, 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16. Let’s Move Dance class, 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16. These classes are free and open to the public, no library card required.
Youth Events
PAWS to Read will be happening from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13. Register your child for a 15-minute time slot to practice reading skills by reading to a therapy dog.
Baby and toddler time, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14. Join Miss Cathy for songs and stories geared toward children birth through 36 months. Registration is requested, but visitors are always welcome.
Preschool story time, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15. Join Mrs. Pam to sing songs, read books, share finger plays and learn through fun literacy activities and crafts. This program is geared toward children ages 3-6, but all family members are invited. Registration is requested, but visitors are always welcome.
