Kylie Keim
Whitko Junior/Senior High School’s Student of the Month is senior Kylie Keim.
“Kylie is a positive role model and leader for Whitko,” said WJSHS Principal Amy Evans. “She is the drum major for our band. She is always friendly and well liked by her peers.”
Jacob Tuttle
The Whitko Junior High Student of the Month is Jacob Tuttle.
Nominating teacher Rochelle Leininger said Jacob, a seventh-grader, is a joy to have in class.
“He is excited about learning, and he participates positively in class, often going above and beyond. He does extra work and advocates for himself by asking questions when necessary. He works hard to maintain his grades and has a positive attitude and strong work ethic,” Leininger said.
John Morgan
Whitko Career Academy’s Student of the Month is junior John Morgan.
“Not only is John a motivated student and athlete, he is a critical thinker, problem solver and self-directed achiever,” said welding instructor Jay Ocken. “John will, without a doubt, become a successful and productive citizen in whatever post-secondary path he chooses.”
Dannaka Day
South Whitley Elementary School’s Student of the Month is Dannaka Day.
“Dannaka Day is a model fifth-grader at South Whitley Elementary,” said her nominating teacher, Jessica Long. “She treats her classmates and teachers kindly, is a good friend and does the right thing even when no one is watching. Dannaka is patient with her peers, is focused and engaged in her learning and always gives her personal best. She sets an example of being a leader with her actions to the students of South Whitley Elementary School. Way to go, Dannaka!”
Abel Miller
Pierceton Elementary School’s Student of the Month is Abel Miller.
“Abel is always willing to try new things and work hard. He always has a smile on his face and is kind to others,” said his third-grade teacher, Angela Speicher. “Abel embodies a PES Student of the Month by being caring and respectful, using teamwork, being responsible and safe. I am very happy to nominate Abel for this honor.”
Hayden Henson
Whitko Early Learning Center’s Student of the Month is Hayden Henson.
“I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of Hayden’s life for the last 2 1/2 years. In this time, I have witnessed him grow from an infant into a sweet little gentleman. Each day, Hayden greets me with a friendly smile and ‘Hello!'” said Jamie Paino, Whitko’s Early Learning Center and Alternative Services director, who nominated Hayden.
“Hayden is polite, kind and truly an incredible joy to be around,” said Hayden’s preschool teacher, Jillian Starkweather. “He is such a delight to have in the classroom. He always finds a way to brighten everyone’s day. If you pass him in the hallway you can count on him to say hello with a smile. Hayden is a very good friend; he is always making sure all of his friends are feeling happy. He plays well with all of his classmates, and I can always count on him to help me whenever I ask.”
