WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for driving with illegal substances in his body, after taking a drug test due to a fatal vehicle accident he was involved in.
Javier Emilio Iraheta Jr., 26, 3104 Heron Blvd., Warsaw, is charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a class C misdemeanor; and operating a vehicle while intoxicated prior, a level 6 felony.
On Sept. 5, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of CR 350W and CR 200N, northwest of Warsaw. One of the drivers involved, Clifford G. Grubb, 64, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Grubb was traveling east on CR 200N when he failed to yield to a vehicle driven by Iraheta, who was traveling south on CR 350W. Iraheta was not at fault for the accident.
Since Grubb passed away after the vehicle accident, Iraheta agreed to take a certified chemical test and was taken to a local hospital.
According to court documents, on Oct. 12, KCSO received the test results, which showed Iraheta had methamphetamine, amphetamine, and THC in his system at the time of the accident.
Iraheta was previously convicted of OWI in Kosciusko County in August 2021.
Iraheta was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Nov. 5, with a $10,250 surety and cash bond.
