Fire Damages Home East Of Leesburg

A home on the south side of Tippecanoe Lake sustained heavy smoke damage from a fire that broke out around 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6. The initial call sent the Leesburg-Plain Township Volunteer Fire Department to 3929 E. Oldfield Drive, which is situated between Stanton and Tippecanoe lakes. Assistance was requested from North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Fire Territory, Milford Volunteer Fire Department and Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire Territory.
According to witnesses at the scene, heavy smoke could be seen billowing from the house, although flames were never visible from the exterior of the structure. Firefighters reportedly had the scene under control in short order.
The house sits in Plain township near the border with Tippecanoe Township.
