News Release
INDIANA — The Joyce Ivy Foundation, a Michigan-based not-for-profit that supports high school women with scholarships, is expanding their organization into Indiana. Indiana is the eighth state to provide a program from the foundation.

The scholarship’s inaugural award is scheduled to be presented in the summer of 2024 to a Indiana Academy student, Carlson’s alma mater. The foundation, in the future, hopes to be able to expand and award around 20 scholarships annually.
The Joyce Ivy Foundation was originally created to assist women to attend college. The foundation has helped over 1,000 students since being founded in 2006. The foundation reports 30% of those students were first generation and 70% were were women of color and a majority come from economically disadvantaged families.
