WARSAW — A South Bend woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing several pairs of shoes from a Warsaw store.
Angela Frances Fry, 34, South Bend, is charged with theft, a class A misdemeanor; and sentence enhancement theft, a level 6 felony.
On April 26, a Warsaw Police officer went to Shoe Carnival regarding a theft report. The store’s manager said two women grabbed six pairs of shoes and left the store without paying.
According to court documents, the total financial loss to the store was $386.97. The Warsaw Police Department utilized social media to ask for assistance in identifying the women. Officers received information that the women were Fry and Destiny D. Collins, Elkhart.
Collins told officers she drove Fry to the store from South Bend. While Fry searched for shoes inside the store, Collins left to go to her vehicle to charge her phone. Collins then drove Fry back to South Bend.
The officer found a social media page belonging to Fry. In a post from April 28, Fry can be seen wearing a pair of shoes matching the description of a pair stolen from the Warsaw store. The post also showed a vehicle matching the description the store’s manager provided to officers.
Fry was previously convicted of theft in St. Joseph County in February 2015.
Fry was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Oct. 27.
Collins has already been arrested and has a pretrial conference on Dec. 13, in Kosciusko Superior Court Two.
