Echoes Of The Past Serves The Community Despite The Weather
News Release
WARSAW — With Mother Nature being so temperamental this fall and forcing the cancellation of the Fall Festival, the Echoes of the Past club members were left saddened and perplexed at the same time. The club was disheartened to cancel the festival following all the rain that saturated the grounds but yet had their field full of pumpkins just waiting to find homes.
Pumpkins are given away at the Fall Festival to each of the kids that visit and with the cancellation, the conundrum of what to do with the pumpkins surfaced. Club members met and cleared the patch on Tuesday, Oct. 17.
One trailer load was delivered to the Town of Claypool for residents to grab and enjoy. The second trailer load was donated to Combine Community Services. Sixty of the pumpkins went to help Cardinal Services clients compete in a pumpkin decorating contest. The rest of the trailer load blessed nearly 200 people through CCS. The pumpkins arrived just in time for a family art project.
The club will be collecting toys through the month of November for their “Cram the Tram” event that benefits Toys for Tots. If you would like to help by donating a toy, donation boxes can be found at Splendor Boats 650 E. Winona Ave, Warsaw and 9526 SR 15, Silver Lake.
