Goshen Theater Announces November Event Calendar

GOSHEN — The Goshen Theater, 216 S. Main St., has released their end of October and November event calendar. For more information, contact the Goshen Theater box office by calling (574) 312-3701 or by emailing [email protected]. Box office hours are 12-4 p.m. Tuesday to Friday.
7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27: Free Movie: Halloweentown
Marnie (Kimberly J. Brown) and her siblings get a big shock when they follow Grandma Aggie (Debbie Reynolds) home to Halloweentown – and find out they come from a family of witches. The town is the only place where supernatural beings can lead a ‘normal’ life, but trouble is looming, and on her 13th birthday Marnie not only finds she is a witch, but that she and her family are involved in a fight against the evil that is threatening to take over the world.
The movie is rated PG, runs for 1 hour and 24 minutes, Spanish subtitles are available, admission is free but donations are encouraged, doors open at 6:15 p.m., bar and concession stand will be open.

12 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28: Rocky Horror Picture Show
Goshen Theater and Art House would like, if we may, to take you on a strange journey. Shiver with antici…pation. It’s time to do the Time Warp AGAIN! Join in the Miller Auditorium on Oct. 28, for a midnight showing of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Costumes are highly encouraged. This event is for ages 18 years and up.
No outside props or interactive objects are allowed, but there is Theater approved interactive kits for purchase. Grab your Frank-N-Furter’s Tool Kit when you purchase your tickets or purchase at the door.
Cocktail hour and pre-show activities begin in the lobby at 10:30 p.m. Seating in the Auditorium will begin at 11:30 p.m.
The movie is rated R. General admission is $15 and general admission with Frank-N-Furter’s Took Kit is $17.

7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29: Macabret: Spooktacular Songs and Sonnets
Join Carrie Lee Bland-Kendall, Marilyn Sexton Mason and their friends in the Miller Auditorium for a spooktacular evening of songs, sonnets and short stories that will surely put you in the proper spooky mood for the season.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students. Seating is limited.

Wednesday, Nov. 1 – Thursday, Nov. 30: Second Annual Gingerbread House Competition
The second annual Goshen Theater Gingerbread House Competition is here! Help create a gingerbread village that will fill the theater with both smells and holiday merriment.
The competition has been broken into two categories: Adult (ages 13+) and Kids (ages 12 and under). No pre-made kits are allowed in the adult category but they are permitted in the kids category.
There will be 7 winners: Community Favorite, $25; Adult 1st place, $100; Adult 2nd place, $50; Adult 3rd place, $25; Kids 1st place, $50; Kids 2nd place, $25 and Kids 3rd place, $10.
Entries can be dropped off during normal operating hours or by scheduling a time by emailing Robert Tombari, program director, at [email protected]. All entries must be submitted no later than Thursday, Nov. 30.
5-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3: First Fridays: Light Parade
Stop in for a drink or treat from the bar and concession stand, learn more about upcoming events and see the works of Ramiro Rodriguez one last time.
4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5: Art House Presents: Fall Bizarre Fundraiser
Channeling the fall bazaars of old, Art House will host a variety of odd characters and tantalizing activities. Featuring mini-games, magical vendors, music and sideshows, a full bar and concessions, tarot readings, and more. And of course, no fall festival is complete without a cake walk.
Entry is $5. Most activities are ticketed separately, much like your usual fun fair. Vendors will be taking cash and card. A majority of the proceeds benefit Goshen Art House. This event is strictly 18 years and older.
3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12: Free Movie: The Addams Family
The members of the odd Addams Family are up to more macabre antics in this sequel. This time around, Gomez Addams (Raul Julia) and his wife, Morticia (Anjelica Huston), are celebrating the arrival of a baby boy. But siblings Wednesday (Christina Ricci) and Pugsley (Jimmy Workman) are none too happy about the new addition, and try their best to eliminate the infant. When nanny Debbie Jelinsky (Joan Cusack) appears to keep the kids in line, her presence leads to an unexpected treacherous twist.

3-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18: International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day
The Elkhart County Suicide Prevention Coalition invites Michiana Survivors of Suicide Loss, ages 16 and up, to join others around the world who have lost a loved one to suicide in gathering to share stories, find comfort in knowing you are not alone, and gain insight about healing after loss. The program will include a documentary film and a guided group discussion.
