WARSAW — A Warsaw man will serve three years in prison for battering a woman he previously battered in 2022.
Zachary Allan Graham, 32, Warsaw, was charged with domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor; and domestic battery with a prior conviction, a level 5 felony. Two additional criminal charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
Graham was sentenced in Kosciusko Superior Court One on Thursday, Oct. 19.
For domestic battery with a prior conviction, Kosciusko Superior Court One Judge Karin McGrath sentenced Graham to four years in the Indiana Department of Correction, with three years executed and one year suspended on probation. He also received a one-year DOC sentence for his misdemeanor domestic battery charge. Both charges will be served concurrently, or at the same time.
The sentence will be served consecutively to a strangulation case Graham was on probation for at the time of the Kosciusko County battery.
Graham has 105 days of jail time credit. A no-contact order between Graham and the victim remains in effect.
On July 5, a Nappanee Police officer responded to a domestic incident in which Graham battered a woman.
According to court documents, the woman said Graham hit her two times. The responding officer noticed redness and abrasions on the woman’s chin and right cheek, along with blood on her lips and mouth.
Graham has a prior conviction for strangulation in St. Joseph County, a case which the woman was also the victim in.
