In September, Operation Round Up grants were awarded to Boomerang Backpacks, Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, Grace Village Health Care Facility, GiveHear, Hope’s Harbor Family Hospitality Homes, Kosciusko Community YMCA, Living in Transition Effectively and Lutheran Social Services of Indiana.

“The Community Foundation is proud to partner with KREMC and its members to support the organizations providing much needed services and programs to families, individuals and communities across Kosciusko County,” said Alex Hall, vice president of programs at the Kosciusko County Community Foundation. “We encourage local organizations to apply for the next grant cycle that is quickly approaching on Nov. 1. Organizations applying must provide services to residents living within the Kosciusko REMC service area and have a charitable designation. Operation Round Up grants should meet one or more of the following criteria:

• Reach a broad segment of the community
• Impact low-income individuals, families and seniors, such as by providing food to those in need
• Provide mental health and safety related programs
• Aid in youth development through mentoring and innovative educational opportunities outside of school
• Support and promote the local agriculture community through local chapters of 4-H, FFA and similar programs
• Cover expenses directly related to the delivery of a program
