WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested for allegedly threatening and battering a woman.
Trayklyn Michael Castro, 26, 501 N. Harrison St., Warsaw, is charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; domestic battery with a child under 16 present and domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, both level 6 felonies; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On Oct. 2, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a domestic incident involving Castro. A woman said she received text messages from the victim, who said Castro tried to stab her and threatened her.
According to court documents, the victim said she was sleeping next to a child when Castro screamed and ripped a blanket off of her. He allegedly hit the woman’s mouth and tried to stab her with a knife.
At one point, Castro held the tip of the knife to the woman’s throat and threatened to harm her. The officer noticed bruises on the woman’s leg and ankle, and redness and swelling on her mouth.
During the altercation, the child texted someone about waking up because Castro came into their room with a knife and yelled at the woman.
Castro did not provide a statement about the incident to the officer.
Castro has an initial hearing at 11 a.m. Nov. 2, in Kosciusko Superior Court One.
