North Webster Community Public Library — Celebrating Friends of the Library Appreciation Week

NORTH WEBSTER — Friends of the Library Appreciation Week is Oct. 15-21 and the staff at the North Webster Community Public Library is excited to celebrate.
With membership numbers reaching 60-plus, the Friends of the Library is a vibrant, active group of individuals, who share a passion for reading, learning, and the library. These people contribute to the well-being of their community by volunteering at the library, organizing book donations, running library book sales, and more. NWCPL staff wishes to thank the FOL group for all their tireless work not only for the library, but for the community as a whole.
Weekly Library Events
The following activities are set to take place at NWPL. Attendees don’t need to have a library card to participate in any of these events.
Adult Events
A Matter of Balance is at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16; call the library if interested in the January session of this event.
The needle felting class will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16. This month, people can make a mouse carrying a pumpkin. Class is free; all materials are provided, but registration is required.
“Killer Reads: True Crime Book Club” will be meeting at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17. This month’s book is “Five Days at Memorial” by Sheri Fink.
Get Fit While You Sit chair exercise classes are at 10:30 a.m. or 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19. These exercise classes are identical and free and open to the public.
Let’s Move Dance Class will be meeting at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19. Join NWPL for a fun time of dancing to dance videos, learning new dance steps, and getting a great workout.
During the Friday Night Fright feature, the library will be showing “Gremlins,” rated PG, at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, for a special after-hours movie.
Teen Events
During Fall Break Oct. 16-20, teens are invited to the library for a special week-long art project creating giant heads out of cardboard, at 11 a.m. Monday to Friday, for this in-depth art event.
Teen Café will be meeting at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16. Students in grades 6-12 are invited to come hang out with friends to play games and eat snacks.
Teen Wellness Circle will be meeting at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17. Join fellow teens to engage in insightful discussions about physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.
Youth Events
Baby and Toddler Time will be held at both 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17. Join Miss Cathy for songs and stories geared toward children birth through 36 months. Registration is requested, but visitors are always welcome.
Preschool Story Time will be held at both 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18. Join Mrs. Pam to sing songs, read books, share fingerplays and learn through fun literacy activities and crafts. This program is geared toward children ages 3-6; family members are invited. Registration is requested, but visitors are welcome.
Family Movie Time will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19. This month, the library will be showing the Disney classic, “Cinderella” plus snacks.
Mark’s Ark will be doing a special Fall Break live animal show at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20; pick up tickets for guaranteed seating for this fun event.
Trick-or-Trade Costume Swap will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21. Ticket holders are invited to come “shop” with their tickets from 10 a.m. to noon; extra costumes will be given away on a first come, first serve basis.
