Milford Public Library — Winners Of Mini Masterpiece Contest Announced
News release
MILFORD — During the month of September, Milford Public Library made available mini canvases, easels and paints to anyone who wanted to participate in the mini masterpiece contest. The paintings were on display from Sept. 25-30 and people could vote for their favorites. Winners are Cindy Cox, Abigail Anderson, Felicia Mottern and Lily Thompson. They had 58 participants of all ages return mini masterpieces to be judged.
Socktober
During the month of October, bring beautiful, warm, wonderful pairs of socks for all ages to donate for Socktober. Warm socks are one of the items rarely donated for people in need, so the library will make donation boxes available (one up and one down) to collect your generous donations of socks. The socks will be donated to the Milford Food Bank, Milford Food Pantry and Milford School. Let’s make sure everyone has warm tootsies this winter; bring in a donation today.
Fall Story Time
Jennifer McGaughey, one of the new children’s clerks, will lead your children through fall story time. This week’s theme is fire prevention. Children ages 3-6 are invited to come. Story time lasts about 45 minutes with stories, a fun craft and delicious treat to share. Meet a local volunteer fireman. Register your child by calling (574) 658-4312 and asking for the children’s department. Story time continues until the week before Thanksgiving, so there’s lots more fun coming your way.
Afternoon Knitting
Afternoon Knitting Club meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the teen area of the library. You are welcome to come if you are a beginner or experienced knitter. Bring a project you are working on and enjoy conversation with others who enjoy your hobby.
