Parkview Noble Hospital Again Named A Top 10 Small Community Hospital
News Release
KENDALLVILLE — For the second year in a row, Parkview Noble Hospital has been ranked among the top 10 small community hospitals in America. The hospital was once again identified as one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals, according to an independent quality analysis provided by PINC AI and reported by Fortune.
Parkview Noble Hospital was ranked No. 10 in the small community hospitals category and is the only Indiana hospital of any size recognized on the Fortune/PINC AI list this year. This is the second consecutive year and fifth time in the last six years that Parkview Noble has been recognized in Fortune’s 100 Top Hospitals listing.
“Parkview Noble Hospital stands as a shining example of our commitment to rural health care and demonstrates how a hospital’s size doesn’t impact its ability to deliver high-quality care with an excellent experience,” said Dr. Greg Johnson, regional market president, Parkview Health. “This award from Fortune/PINC AI is recognition of our co-workers’ world-class teamwork, and we commend them for making Parkview Noble a nationally ranked hospital.”
Parkview Noble Hospital received five-star ratings, representing performances in the top quintile, in all four metrics scored by Fortune/PINC AI: clinical outcomes, operation efficiency, patient experience and financial health.
The 100 Top Hospitals list is based on an objective, quantitative analysis of publicly available, non-biased data. Organizations do not apply to participate in the study, and award winners do not pay to market their honor.
“The Parkview Noble Hospital team is thrilled to be recognized once again as one of the nation’s top small community hospitals,” said Jordi Disler, market president, Parkview Health North. “This ranking is the direct result of our co-workers’ dedication to providing excellent care for every person, every day. We’re proud to offer this caliber of nationally ranked, high-quality care to residents of Noble County and the surrounding communities.”
This year, based on comparisons between the study winners and a peer group of similar hospitals that were not winners, the analysis found that the winners of the 100 Top Hospitals program delivered better outcomes while operating more efficiently and at a lower cost. Compared to non-winning hospitals, this year’s winners had:
- 31% fewer deaths than non-winning hospitals
- 9% fewer patients with complications
- 39% fewer health care-associated infections
- Nearly 20% lower inpatient expenses per discharge
- Half-day shorter average length of stay
- Better reported patient experience scores, with a top-box Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems score of 77% verus 70% for non-winning hospitals
“As hospitals continue to share the nation’s focus on changing health care for the better, hospitals and health systems are recognizing the importance of identifying areas within their walls for quality improvement,” said Leigh Anderson, Premier’s chief operating officer and the leader of PINC AI. “The transparent and non-biased measures this study provides help leaders make informed decisions for change and prove that Parkview Noble Hospital excels across a range of core performance indicators, which can directly lead to significantly higher quality patient outcomes, with fewer readmissions and complications.”
