Ministers Urge Day Of Prayer For Israel; Yakym Issues Statement
News Releases
WARSAW — The Greater Warsaw Ministerial Association is encouraging people to pray for Israel and for the peace of Jerusalem, as it says is directed in Psalm 122:6-9. Leaders in Israel have called recent attacks by Hamas their 9/11. Many have died and others suffer on both sides. The ministerial association is calling for a Day of Prayer for Israel on Sunday, Oct. 15.
Here is an example of a prayer, taken from the Christian Broadcasting Network, that can be said:
“Let us pray: May God arise and have mercy on Zion. May the set time come, may the time of favor come, and may all the nations under heaven fear the name of the Lord and give honor to Your glory. May peace be within the walls of Jerusalem, on every street and in every home and place of worship. May Jerusalem be known as a place of prayer and a place where all nations can come together and worship.
“May God soften the hearts of the Palestinians. May those who have lost loved ones be comforted. May the generations of violence cease and may the sons of Isaac and the sons of Ismael come to peace as the sons of Abraham. Amen.”
Yakym Statement
U.S. Rep. Rudy Yakym, Republican representing Indiana’s 2nd Congressional District, issued a statement Tuesday, Oct. 10, after co-sponsoring a bipartisan House Resolution that affirms Congress’ support for Israel and condemns Hamas’ attacks.
“Over the past few days the civilized world has watched with horror as Hamas and other Iranian-backed terrorists have launched a barbaric and unprovoked war on Israel.
“In this trying hour, Congress needs to speak with one, loud and clear voice in supporting our friend and ally Israel as they defend themselves, protect their people and bring these terrorist thugs to justice.
“I am proud to join my colleagues on both sides of the aisle in condemning Hamas’ barbarism and standing with Israel as they fight and win this war.”
