Warsaw Man Arrested For Breaking Into Home, Battering Teenager
Staff Report
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for allegedly breaking into a home and battering a teenager.
Senica Terrell Ramsey, 25, 422 W. Porter St., Warsaw, is charged with residential entry and battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, both level 6 felonies; interference with the reporting of a crime, a class A misdemeanor; and criminal mischief, a class B misdemeanor.
On Oct. 1, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a domestic complaint north of Warsaw. A man, later identified as Ramsey, left the scene after having a physical fight with a teenager.
According to court documents, the teenager said Terrell entered her home without permission and battered her. A woman at the residence said she saw Ramsey pick up the teenager, slam her against a wall and throw her onto the bed.
When the teenager attempted to call 911, Ramsey grabbed the teenager’s cellphone and broke it. The deputy noticed a cut on the teenager’s lower right leg.
While the deputy was investigating the battery, 911 dispatch received a call about a person matching Ramsey’s description hiding near a building. The caller said Ramsey was trying to hide behind a building in order to avoid the police.
Ramsey told the deputy he was never at the residence where the battery occurred.
Ramsey was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Oct. 1, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
