Elmer Buchta Trucking LLC Files For Bankruptcy

EVANSVILLE — The Evansville-based trucking company, Elmer Buchta Trucking LLC, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The filing comes just nine months after the company was acquired by Transport Acquistions.
Elmer Buchta Trucking LLC was founded in 1938 as a livestock and farm farm equipment hauler. The company since evolved to provide bulk, dry van and pneumatic trucking services.
In a news release, the company said the goal of the filing is to “restructure our debt, streamline our operations and position us for future expansion.”
In the bankruptcy filing, Elmer Buchta Trucking LLC reported assests between $1 million and $10 million, and liabilities between $10 million and $50 million.
According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s website, the company has 100 drivers on their payroll. The company has stated there is no plans to lay off any employees.
